TV Asahi has aired a list of the 100 most popular animated TV series of all time.
The only non-Japanese animation to make the list was Tom and Jerry at position 58 (overall). The list was not limited to shows that aired on TV Asahi.
The top 5 series, Fullmetal Alchemist, Gundam, Dragon Ball, Mahou Sensei Negima and Doraemon received 4998, 3344, 1322, 1185 and 1184 votes respectively.
