The September 12 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (#39) announces that the popular The Prince of Tennis manga is to be adapted into a live action movie.

Hit manga “The Prince of Tennis” (Takeshi Konomi - Weeky Shonen Jump / Shueisha) is going to be made into a live-action feature film in the near future.

Before now popular manga has been adapted both as a long-running TV anime and as a number of stage musicals, with the most recent installment “The Prince of Tennis - The Imperial Match Hyotei Gakuen” opening in Tokyo and Osaka last month. The musicals have attracted considerable attention for their cast of handsome young actors.

News of the movie adaptation was announced in Weekly Shonen Jump volume 39 (the September 12 issue), and many of the details remain as yet unclear. New OVA anime, a videogame, and manga fan book volume 30.5 are also in the works.
